I used to own a CZ5 Quicksilver, good machine for coins, but in beach mode it wouldn't pick up smaller gold.

I had mine until last year. It was fun to coin shoot with, but I found I was using the Legend more often. I don't think we will ever see a new machine from Fishers again. They have fallen too far behind in technology and haven't released a machine in 5 years. I wouldn't be surprised if they close their hobby side of the business in 2025.

The CZ6a was my weapon of choice for a bunch of years. Deepest hunting machine I ever used, especially when it came to silver. Even though it's a bit on the heavy side compared to today's digital machines, I still hunted 12 hr. days with it without any arm issues.

If you get a chance to buy one in good shape and at a good price you wouldn't regret it.

I wondered if anyone was swinging the coil of one. My first " GOOD " detector was a CZ5, & I still have it. I had a Dankowski tuned CZ3 for years, but someone talked me out of it.

heard of them, never used them. I started with a Whites 5900, then an XLT now use a Legend.

I had a compass back in the late 70s. relatively decent to me.

Still have a CZ7, with the 8 and the large 10.5 round coil. Chunky detector, well made (much better built and better materials used than the later Fisher F series). Oh, and a DEEP seeking unit.

I had a Compass 420 TR detector back in 1983. Never had much success with it,
but that was most likely due to my lack of understanding of how to get peak
performance from it. At the time I also had a Whites 5000 D Series 2...a great
machine in it's time.
