I just started doing some dime boxes and in one box today I got 3 silver rossies. Plus one possible silver Canadian. Can anyone tell me what the average for a dime box or ever 250$ in dimes.

Well, here is my average for '09. Not counting a few canadian silvers, my count is 1 per $150 in dimes, searching boxes/rolls, $5250 total searched. Averages may differ in other locations.

The silver canadians are 1968 and earlier. The 1968 was also minted in junk metal. The difference between them is obvious. However, dimes are pretty rough to go through, average maybe 1 per $250 and the counters count some as pennies which cuts into any profit. Don't get me started on them being short...that my dimes worth on it. I look at them as a very last resort.

I like searching halfs for the bulk silver, but ya can't beat dimes for variety. I can search a box of dimes faster than I can halves, and I love the fact that I can pull lots of silver canadians, mercs, and even barbers (6 last year.)

My year to date average is 1 dime per $189 searched or .053% of my dimes searched.

I have been averaging 2 per box this year. Of course averages mean almost nothing since you could hit a streak of skunks or get a box with 50 silver dimes in it.

I average 1 or two a box. Most I ever got was 3. I don't get skunked on the dime boxes very often.

I'm also getting 2 to 3 per box.
One thing I do is when I go to the bank for half dollars and they do not have any I buy $100-200 in dimes
This way I have something to look through.
Worst was $1000.00 in dimes got me 2 Roosevelt.
Best was out of $300 in customer wrapped I got ( 2 full rolls )
So keep it up I like doing the dimes.
Super easy to do for me at least.

For the most part I get 3 per box, sometimes just 2, rarely just 1, and very rarely a skunk. I did hit a box with something like 22 Rosies in it. For me, 1 Merc seems to come along about every 10 Rosies.
