dimes

Good finds on those dimes. Can photos be posted ?

For your '47, is there a mint mark (found just to the left of the base of the torch on the reverse) ? If no, it was minted in Philadelphia, if a "D" it was minted in Denver and if "S"; San Francisco. The value will vary with the mintmark; not to mention condition of the coin. If you have a redbook, it will answer that question for you.

For your '98S. You may really have something there. While both the clad (copper along the edge) and silver versions were only struck only as Proofs and available originally only in Proof sets, the silver version is much scarcer; hence worth more.

The two versions seem to weigh the same, so without trying to clean it, see if you can look at the edge under a magnifying glass.

I don't have my redbook handy, (anyone online have theirs ?), but the while either are nice finds, the silver will be the better of the two.

Let us know and look forward to photos.
