Dug this from a nearby rev war battle site. I'm thinking it's part of a dip pen. First considered a flechette round, but I think that's ruled out since it (a) has no fins and (b) is decorative.

Were dip pens in use in the Rev War or did they just use quills?

Size?

What type of metal is it?

Broken at the end?

We need more info...

Sorry about that -- totally meant to at least put the size in.

It's about 2 3/4" long and very thin, about 3/16".

The metal appears to be brass, but I'm not sure. There are areas where you can see kind of a copperish color, but there's no green anywhere.

The piece appears to be intact -- both ends do not appear to be broken.

I don't know, but it's cool. Welcome to Tnet.

It could be an autographic stylus from a 1920's Brownie camera. They had a little window in the back of the camera that allowed you to write on the film with a brass stylus that came with the camera.
