Howdy,

Went out hunting this morning, and before I got rained out I found what seems to be a pottery shard with some very distinct features. I stayed out until I was completely soaked but it was worth it.

In-and-of-itself nothing earth shattering, but definitely identifiable and collection worthy. Perhaps more importantly, I am able to find that exact same spot / area using an iPhone app. If you get the app called SpyGlass, you can take a picture that includes GPS location data. So when they till this field, I should be able to get to the same exact spot, and general area to look for more pieces of it. Maybe I'll find more, maybe I won't but I can quick get to the same spot and try it out.

Is it glazed? If it is then it isnt a true pottery shard by native american indians.

I wouldn't even know how to tell. What would I look for?

Clay pigeon fragment :-\

Try again tomorrow

If it feels slick then it has been glazed. Most pottery is gritty feeling. Better luck next time I am sure you will find something. Never give up is my mod-o
