DIY single stamp small rock crusher.

I was reading some post's about how to crush rocks. I came up with this idea, i would think the solid steel stamp or ram would pulverize the rocks very well. Most material should be available at a steel & pipe shop say Patton's metal working solutions, i don't think home depot will carry it anyway look at the sketch see if it will work for you regards Craig.

Stamp mills have proven their value in the past, but I don't know how many choose to use them these days.
Screened discharge port?
Mechanism for lifting and dropping the stamp?

Hi rockbar, this 15/20 pound steel bar is lifted and dropped by hand its a small unit.

This is what I use for a one man portable stamp mill.
The weight of the 58" long ramrod does a great job, plus I added a length of 1" diameter rebar inside the 2" diameter ramrod pipe to add weight, plus the rebar gives a second hit on the downstroke. Ram rods can be made from various materials..... Solid steel barbell rod, modified pinch bar, post hole tamping bar, etc.

The taller base 18" tall is made from 3" diameter exhaust tubing welded to 1/4" thick steel plate. (salvaged from the scrap pile at a muffler shop)
The shorter one 15" is 4" diameter driveline tubing. (salvaged from scrap at a truck repair shop)

The best crusher is an old truck rear axle. Grind the flange end to fit the pipe.
