DM&Co. Lock

Found this lock today. It's a DM&Co. Lock with an eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch. US Govt symbol maybe? I found a little bit of info on that company on the inner webs but didn't find this specific lock. Possibly as old as pre 1864. Not sure but any input will help. Thanks

Pretty sure it's Davenport & Mallory Co, and the time period you state would be right. The company turned in MW&Co. later, one of the largest manufacturers of the day.
