Do any hunters here wear hearing aids?

I recently had to take a mega dose of antibiotics for a systemic infection, and as a result, I have lost my ability to hear high tones without wearing high dollar hearing aids. I am wondering how that will affect wearing headphones when I finally am able to get out and do some detecting. Anybody here wear hearing aids?

Nope. But I wear custom filtered earplugs from Big Ear because the high tones really hurt because of my hyperacusis.

My wife says I could use one. But no I don't because I can adjust the tone to suit my ear on the Deus.

That's probably the best solution.

Hearing aid + headphones = more hearing damage

I have 75% hearing loss. I am totally deaf on most high tones. I wear a one cup "Killer B's" headphone, turned all the way up and keep a close eye on my VDI. It is what it is...My partner wears his hearing aids with his headphones, no problem, I don't. You'll just have to try it out and see what's good for you...HH

Due to Meniere's disease, I have 0 hearing or balance function
from my right ear (it's just a decoration on my head), and
less than 60% function in the left ear.

Using a quality set of amplified headphones makes a huge
difference, plus many machines today offer an option to adjust
tone. There are many high, and some low tone frequencies that
I can't hear at all, but so far I've been able to adjust the tone to
something I can hear clearly. No hearing aid used.
