do any of you trolls hunt in the UP

Yep, heading up to Curtis soon, lake Manistique. I've only been across the bridge once before. Bringing my detecter but probably won't have much time do to peer pressure.

i haven't spent much time in the eastern up, allot of intresting sites i would like to check out some time, have a buddy with a camp on the Indian river in that general area, done a little fishing there, bring the bug dope, up north the sand flies and noseeums were about as bad as Ive ever seen, the skeeters were pretty bad in one area, i was wearing shorts at my brothers place helping him place posts for a 2nd floor deck, had about 50 noseeums per leg, unbelievable

I go up to Paradise (In Chippewa County) once or twice every summer. I'd like to do some detecting around there. I got a few ideas as well.

Newb here,
I posted up in my intro about hitting up Mandan, Pequaming and another hopefully on a little adventure we have next month. I am a newb to MDing though so I may sweep right over some gold.

i would love to hit Pequaming, dout you can though, alot of history in that area, i may be up in that area the end of aug. myself, plan on some copper hunting as well around Mass

My parents live at Blaney Park, near Germfask, South of Seney. I was there this weekend again. I have hunted around there a bit, and off toward Manistique.

Don't get over as far West as you are very often. Copper Harbor a couple of years ago. Once in Marquette.

I am certainly qualify as a Troll though. Fifty miles south of the bridge is still far enough down for Troll status!

yep anybody below the bridge, certainly qualifys, i was born down there as well, dad was in the air force, Seney had quite the hard rep back in the day.

Ever md at Seney? Been to the museum and Boot Hill Cemetary, but haven't ever swung a coil there. As wild an crazy as it's reputation was there may be some interesting finds.

central illinois here. i go UP most every summer.doin the heat dodgin thing.im going again in august here but unsure of dates.gotta new water machine and still hasvent used it yet in the water.works great on land.so i gotta.there so much to do up there i must confess i never brought my MD along.CLOSEST we got to treasure hunting was a gigantic pile of drink cans left in a park that we turned into some quick cash. LOVE THAT 10 CENT MI DEPOSIT.SHAME on my state for not having it

troll by birth, yupper by heart....Looks like I'm coming up with some friends while they dive off the keweenaw for the holiday weekend. I've got some brand new gold pans and scouting some shoreline to detect where I won't get yelled at by the po-po. Choices, choices. Shell

Same here. Me heart is in the UP and I will eventually retire there. We just got back from 4 days in the Marquette area. It was a great trip. I also hunt and fish up there. Will be heading back up for an MD trip in a couple of weeks.
I am also looking for a cabin up there right now while prices are down.
