Today with my White's Spectra V3i I discovered a WWI "Do Right And Fear No Man" medal from 1917. The medal was conceived by the American Fund for French Wounded with the profits supporting relief work for French soldiers and civilians. A limited but unknown number of these large medals were offered at a cost of $20 in bronze and $30 in silver. Alongside of it were two Lincoln wheat pennies, 1926 and 1928, all around 4" depth in forest floor. Haven't tried to clean them yet.
That motto was inscribed on George Washington's dress sword. Having recently found a George Washington Inaugural button from 1789, it shows how beloved a president he was during the early history of the US.
As far as my militaria finds go, it is right up there with the WWII silver paratroop wings I found buried alongside a 1941 Mercury Dime last Fall.
