It is the size of a Silver Dollar and I found it while metal detecting. Maybe copper.

guy paddling a canoe all i can make out ... is that a pin on the back?,,,,did you try Google ?.... Canoe pin... might help..... beautiful piatina

It is not a pin that opens, but it is made for something to go under it.

Looks like a strap ornament .. probably a rosette.

It does look like a rosette. I wonder if the guy in the canoe is an indian. I can almost see long hair or braids on him.

I must admit I've never seen a rosette with a canoe on it. Can you tell us more about where you found it or other nearby finds? Maybe it's a summer camp badge...

It was dug close to battlefield in N. Ga and I also found a World War 1 button and a 1928 Standing Liberty Quarter.
Yes it does appear to be a indian.
