I finally got to hunt one of my neighbors yards after eying it for many years... and I have plenty more space to hunt but on my first hunt I pulled 4 hot wheels and a couple bucks of clad a toy gun which would of been my nicest ever till I broke the grip off ( I'll post it later) and 2 wheats.... they are nothing special 1950d & 1953d. but they came out of the ground just as you see them in the picture... I have never had a wheat look this good straight from the ground.... granted I have to wipe the dirt off and rinse it but look at hem they detail is nice and the coins are clean yeah they are marked up a bit but they are 50+ years old too... so are a lot of other 50 year old things...

it seems that certain soil types do not turn cents green.... nice digs!

I was about to post my unc. IH from in front of the Library in John Day. But Neil beat me to it with his photo.

Around here, the wheats that come out of the ground looking the worst are those from the 1950s. Sure seems odd, but that has been my experience. Congrats on finding some great looking coins.

mine are usually trashed too... but they are just so clean... that is why I posted them.... they are nothing special except the condition they are in.

wow very nice!

No, but they're 200 years older.

Every rare once in a while I will pull a wheatie like those. It depends on the soil where they fell. Rare, but yes it happens.

Congrats on the great looking wheats!

I've had one wheat penny and a lot of the copper pennies I dig come out looking pretty good.
