I was told about this story being recently told but it appears to be a year old, and I never heard about it. Apparently, a dig has been ongoing since 2019 on property in Buckingham Township purportedly to be a documented hideout cave of the Doan gang. It's on private property and the owner was apparently approached then about the existence of this cave on his property and a subsequent dig ensued. https://bucksco.today/2022/07/secret-revolutionay-war-cave/#

Cool ! Thanks !

They May have had Several Caves to use at the Time.
Not sure if Any of These Are Related.
I've never been to Bucks co., Except to Drive through it

Typical Nay-sayer ?
First off They Split their treasures.
Thieves don't trust other Thieves.
Probably not even Thieves who are Brothers.
Each had their own Hiding Place after the Splits.
some , Maybe even all Had a Cave to use.
Maybe even far enough away from the others.
Also remember all they would have had was a Burning Torch.
so I'd guess , don't expect any loot to be Back too far.
just far enough to not see the entrance any more to stash their Goods . :treasurechest:

Maybe one or more Just used a Cave as a Permanent Landmark , Not even Burying theirs inside. :treasurechest:
Just Starting Points for searches . Since non has been "Reported" Found, Think outside the Box.

They were known to use/Hide in Caves.
were they smart enough to use Misdirection ? :coffee2:

The total haul of $2300 is really not that much. Solomon Vickars' statement said that there were about 16-17 shares of $140 each which comes out to from $2240-$2380. He lists all those he knows about that had a hand in the Robbery before and after the fact. Buying the guns, the flints, housing them with meals, etc. He cites the following names and shares,
Solomon Vickars--$140
Robert Steel--$140
George Burns--$140
TWO Woodward Brothers--$140 a piece=$280
Aaron Doan--$140
Moses Doan--$140
George Sinclair--$140
Mahlon Doan--$140
Jeremiah Cooper--$140
Amos White--harbored the gang, acquired flints in Phila he gave to Mahlon Doan, provided a quantity of goods to Moses Doan--$$ Share unknown
John Tombleson-Mastermind of Robbery, knew the amount of $ in the Treasury at all times and when to strike, harbored the gang members up to two years prior to Robbery, instrumental in acquiring seven guns--$140
Jospeh Tombleson--knew of the harboring--$40 to keep quiet
Moses Winder--Tax collector--knew the amount of money in Treasury--$30
Joseph Doan Sr. --Knowledge of Robbery, borrowed $25 from Moses
