It says " A bird in the hand is worth washing afterwards."

Sorry. Couldn't help myself...

There is a new guy coming to the forum who reads Chinese. Hopefully he will see your post and translate.

Still working on it, quite difficult as it seems to be a mixture of Chinese and japanese characters. Best guess so far is artists name.

A bit of a talking piece the next time you host a party (if you decide to keep it and hang it on a wall) It's a replica of a chinese painting done by Emperor Huizong (zhaoji). Famous Emperor of the song dynasty. The actual painting is in a museum in japan. This piece is titled 桃鸠图 the chinese english is peach turtle dove. But wiki says "Pigeon on a Peach Branch" during peach blossoms. The chinese on the painting is 大观丁亥御笔天. 大观丁亥 means it was done in the year 1107 A.D. (he was 26 years old) 御笔天 means emperor's writing. I will include the english wiki link to the emperor here where you can see the actual piece and the chinese link to info of the painting here It's a beautiful piece. Hope this helps.
