Does Minelab replace a bad Explorer XS housing with the EX II updated one?

I have both an original model and Ex2 and would prefer my old detector with the slipping upper shaft be fitted with the EX II housing. Anyone know if Minelab does this, or do you get the same old thing that falls apart even faster than the II version?
