Either an uprighted corner stone in a foundation.
Or a marker for a grave.
It is neither I believe. It is as a mountain starts to get steep at the base. Would be very difficult to dig a grave, much more suitable ground away from the mountain.

Yes I am aware of that and have seen those. In this area they are usually 6-8” tall and about 6” wide and have engraved on them there correlation to the section. This stone has a turkey foot engraved on top.

We'd need to see a picture of the Turkey foot but sounds like a broad arrow mark.
