Dog bones?

I noticed some construction going on in an old neighborhood which used to have mounds which have long since been leveled. I poked through some of the dirt piles by the side of the construction site - they were full of trash and fill with no native signs at all.
I did see these bones though. The tooth looks canine, but the other bone seems too think to be a dog. Any thoughts?

Not a dog tooth, so I'd say those guys are correct.
