Don't have a clue iron piece

When I dug this in a CSA Camp last week, I first thought it was a broken side knife as it had 4 rivets where the handle would have attached. As the piece tapered off, it appeared to have been sharpened. However after cleaning, the rivets turned out to be pin looking and do not go all the way through so the knife theory is not valid. I'm stumped on this one. Any ideas, Quindy.

Quindy .. if you look real close at this item, it looks like it says Made in USA on it. My guess is that it is a modern day piece, and looks suspiciously much lie the tools used to tension and splice machinery belts.

Could be Rob. They used thrashing machines in the area that had huge belts. Thanks, Quindy.
