Been a little busy with house hunting, working, auctions etc. Time to post I guess.
The boxes have been lack luster, hopefully next week produces a little better.

Well, the auction today was craptacular. The Auctioneer was by far the worse I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. In the end I walked away with nothing but that was also a good thing. My trusty gold tester saved my butt. I saw a watch marked 14k but the color didnt seem exactly right to me. I won the bid at $180 or $190, not really sure but somewhere near there. Just one other guy and I were in a little bidding war on the watch. I take it to my car, test it... not gold. Test another spot, not gold. 3 more tests... not gold. I walk up to the guy bidding against me and ask him if he was still interested in the watch, he said he was. We went to the table, switch my number with his on the item and I walked away safe.
Where the day shined was garage sales on the way home. The first was garbage but the 2nd, 3rd, 4th paid off, after dropping Vlad off in Warsaw I ended up hitting one more auction and scored at that one too.
First garage sale was crap, nothing worth while there.
Second was a older ladies home, I am greeted by her and her husband and am looking around, they ask if I am looking for anything in particular and I comment that I am looking for cell phones, jewelry and coins mostly. She mentions she has some jewelry and goes and gets it. I start to look through while Vlad sits in the car, uninterested about garage sales. I see some sterling items, nothing serious and continue to dig through and find a ring, a heavy ring to boot in a faded plastic baggie. I look at it through my loupe, see a karat marking and toss it back into the pile as if I am uninterested. I continue to search through the items while we small talk. She asks why I am buying ladies jewelry, I tell her I buy for my sister and niece. After a few minutes I act a little frustrated and ask, how much for the entire box, I would like to just let them look through
it and pick out what they like.
She starts pulling items out, looking them over and making a pile. She gets to a little box of sterling rings, separates those and gets to the heavy ring and separates that. She then separates out the 'silver' from the costume and throws me an offer of $30. I ponder it for a second, pull out a crisp $100 bill and ask her if she would take $100 for all of it, including the rings. She mulls it over a bit and accepts my offer. Vlad cant believe how little work is involved with scoring big from a garage sale.

2nd Garage Sale
----------------------
10k Ring ($70/0.2520)
Sterling Earring ($/0.1844)
925 Bubble Earring ($/0.1100)
925 Hoops Earrings($/0.0952)
925 Curls Earrings($/0.2052)
Dancing Indian Earrings($/0.2855)
Fish Tail Earrings ($/0.0833)
Dancing Horns Earrings ($/0.3628)
3 Sterling Rings ($/0.3658)
I am not going to count any of the sterling towards my totals as I plan on reselling all of it as soon as possible. Time to start building
up the nest egg. Total on the sterling was $30 for 1.6922 oz of silver in the form of ear rings with a silver value of almost $41
I also will start removing some necklaces and rings from my totals as those will be getting put up for sale soon enough.
-----------------------
3rd Garage Sale
-----------------------
We hit this one and I asked the guy running it if he had any coins or jewelry he wanted to get rid of, he had some coins. He was all proud of his silver quarters
He pours them out and its nothing but clad 65 to 69 quarters. I break his heart to let him know that they are only worth a quarter each. Vlad ends up picking up
10g of silver and 6 1oz bars of copper off the guy, the copper bars should sell for $3-$4 ea on Ebay. He paid $10 for all of it, his first Garage sale score.
-----------------------
4th Garage Sale
-----------------------
On the way home hit another garage sale, this time Vlad was interested in going. Nothing good outside but I asked the lady if she happened to have any
coins or jewelry for sale. We both managed to snag some 14k earrings. She asked just a quarter for them, I gave her a dollar which was easier than digging
for change in my pocket, he paid a quarter for 1.3g of 14k while I paid $1 for 0.7g of 14k lol
14k Earrings ($1.00/0.0131)

5th Garage Sale
-----------------------
Hit it as they were packing up. They asked a $1 for anything in the jewelry section, all I could find was a 10k pin.
10k President Past county American Legion pin ($1.00/0.0791)
