Doorknob maybe??? I have no clue.....SOLVED

Found this little item during a quick hunt today. As you can see it is similar to a doorknob, although it seems kinda small. It is 2 pieces of what looks like copper. The inside piece moves freely inside the knob shape, but it wont come out of it unless you really applied some force. There is the split and hole on the side of the knob shaped piece. Any ideas??

Yep, brass bedframe post "finial." The big hole on the side of the large knob is the entry of a horizontal railing-tube.

Excellent. I will go with that. Thanks guys. I know that it could be from a large date range, but I would guess turn of the century till modern day based on the other crappe that I've found there. Green check :thumbsup:
