The name on the back is Bemsco.
Still contracted by the US military.
They`re located in Salt Lake City.

I`ve been unable to determine what time period this came from but it`s still fun to look at.
I cant remember wearing anything this large on my Uniform.

Thanks for looking all.

It's a piece of collar brass, not a button. Nice find.  Not sure of the exact time frame of it though.

Thanks Evolution i`ll start searching the collar brass items.

WWII era or newer...

It looks like a Cavalry bridal rosette. Not sure about the time period though.

Great find!!

HH,

When I joined the Army in the early 90's we had similar but not exact brass buttons on our lapels for dress uniforms.

Note: the two pieces will screw apart so you can polish each separately. I think it's vintage but not ancient.

Bill,
I think Jason was referring to Bob on that statement. :icon_scratch: :tongue3:
Nice find. DD is still turning up the goods for you.

Neil I thought it was WW1 or before as well.

Thanks sneaky6 that was a great idea also and i cant wait to find out what year it was used.

Jason, my Blues uniform from the late 70`s had smaller outer jacket collar brass but nothing of this size.
I`ll try unscrewing it.

Modern Miner it`s good to see your back and thanks for your huuuuumor ::)

You might compare the Air Force brass to the Army ones. I think that it might be AF now that I look at it more. The Army brass is more rounded. That might help you.

I believe that this type of clutch-back collar disk was in use in the 1940's and 50's.

I have some ones that were my grandpa's.... he was in the army right after WWII.... like 1946-1948.... looks just like the one he had..... they had backs for the pins also..........nice finds no matter what the value... all US items are neat in my book

Thanks again JasonB.

PBK your the man, never heard the term clutch-back,
I think minton7, Admiral de Salee and you are right on the money.
Most of the items weve found at this side of the hospital have been around the late 40`s.

Kuweel all thanks for looking and you input.
