Cant remember if I ever posted this here or not. This is not mine , but I sure wish it was . One of the farmers that lets me look on his property found this about 15 years ago on his farm . He was on his tractor and spotted it. It is a doubll crescent banner stone preform . Not sure why it was never finished , but it is the biggest by far that has been seen. You can see the size compared to my Dads hand in the picture, and he is not a small man. Absolutely stunning piece to see first hand. The very center on both sides has a nice hump to them. The hole was never drilled. Hope you enjoy.

DUDE!! I have never seen somthing like that! sweet

Wow, Its is huge. If banners are Atal-Atal weights, That would have had to have been a ceremonial piece. What do you think? John

Holy smokes that is huge, I would say it would be a ceremonial piece, I have never seen a banner that large. I bet if CJ O'Neil seen that he would have a fit, He is with bannerstones.com and he has some very nice stuff.
Thanks for the pic that is just amazing

That is a rare preform...most of the finished ones are found broken and I think some were broken in the manufacturing process. That guy had big ambitions...great find.

Dang! That has to be one of the biggest
preforms. Slate preforms start out big
anyways, but yeah, that's a nice one.

Wow....
That's freaking sweet.

I never get tired of seeing that, the stuff dream finds are made of! :o

I sure wish I would have walked that field before he got the tractor out!! Since it is such a small artifact, I probably woulda walked right over it anyway!! :P

nice. looks like the plow was trying hard to break it. would like to see the other side if possible. as far as educational pieces go, you have to appreciate preforms.

Yeah I like the plow marks as well. Maybe it is a finished item and was not meant to be anything more than it is? Love seeing all the cool stuff on this site. Thanks for sharing its cool
