Double Edged Knife Blade

Found under a tree on a hillside. Not sure what a knife like this would have been used for.
The metal is heavily rusted but the edges still sharp. 9 3/4" long, hilt 3 1/2 wide.

Hunting knife...

Remove rust and may find name of maker on blade below where it joins the lost handle...

Probably lost by a hunter many years ago by the looks of the pitting. Cool find
