Double Notched point.

This point is from KY. Do I class it as a Kentucky Double Notched? Just unsure what type it is classified as.

I've heard em called double notch and reworked pieces.It is a neat piece...

I am curious why they would be double notched, for what purpose? I mean surely two notches are ample for hafting..

oops not double i meant renocthed point, breakage occurs alot at the notch. Instead of throwing the piece away they renotched it.Cant tell if your was broke or not might just be a funky notch.

That's unique! Here's a double notch arrowhead I found.

I usually don't try to help type points because I just don't know that much, but I would classify that one as a Merkle. Here's one I found from Missouri:

I found the name from Overstreet's guide 8th ed. page 901.

I see it Steve, I have that edition. The Merkle is on page 517 too from KY, sure looks like that type.
