Saw this Dove a couple of times and was wondering why his bill looks so different, any ideas? :icon_scratch:

This was the first time I noticed the bill...it's the one on the right... FSCN8092.webp

Second time (might be a different dove ?).....looks kind of like a duck here...FSCN0398.webp...odd?

Will end with a favorite wild sunflower...FSCN8043.webp & sunset..FSCN0892.webp:)

Sure is different. Maybe it's mother was a duck???

It looks to me like feather loss. We had a cardinal here that was bald on top of it's head. It was something to see with bright red plumage and a white skull cap!

Yeah...think you guys are right about the "feather loss"...would have like to see a picture of that cardinal fyrffytr1, must have been a sight!

tamrock...yes, at least he/she found a mate :love8: looking like that...guess it's beautiful on the inside.

Nice pic. We have millions of doves here, all species and I have never seen that. Good eye...

Great pictures, Kat. I really enjoy all of the pictures everyone is posting.

It could be the once thought extinct DD or now rare Duck Dove. But feather lost does make more sense.... :dontknow: (I need to go fix breakfast... now)

Thanks guys...and funny Limitool ...hope the breakfast was good. ;)
