Been hunting an old dump, that houses have been built on, a ball diamond (no longer used) and carnivals have been held there also. Because of the large amount of rusted cans, and rusty iron there, I have been hunting in TTF a lot.
I have been quite successful the last couple of weeks. Get a lot of whatsits. I have a couple for ya in this post. One looks like some kind of lock mechanism, and the other is some kind of petcock valve with a fancy turnbutton. Yes, I dug a barber dime amongst all the rusty crap. The site is about 5 acres in size, no shade trees, and a freeway just about 300 feet away, and train tracks 50 feet away (headphones are a must). The old dump is from the late 1800's to about 1950ish. I have found other coins there that look like they went through some kind of shredder. I got a 1929 Buick roadster radiator emblem, about 20 silver thimbles (all are smashed) but, silver is silver.
By the way, the square looking hole in the lock piece does not go through the other side, but it has the same setup on the other side. You can use the dime for size reference.......nge P.S. the dump was covered over with sand and clay years ago, and grass and thistle now grow there. You wouldn't even know there was a dump there.
