My state Ohio posts the "Water Drawdown schedule" way in advance to it's reservoirs. They also say why they are doing it.
On the Department of Wildlife Website. The only problem is..The reservoirs are state owned and you need a daily permit to detect.
Not a major problem..But... Most of our reservoirs water is open to the public to fish from a boat. But the land is off limits to anyone for any reason. no fishing/trespassing from shore.
Most smaller lakes start there winter drawdowns in the fall to prepare for the winter ice. The lake I fish at during the summer draws there water down 12 feet.
If you live in a area that gets a lot of snow, you can almost guarantee the lake will need to be drained a little.
Just a thought..
