Found this the other day and my first thought was it is a large drawer pull, but it is pretty big for that. It is about 1.5" tall and the top is 1.5" diameter. Appears to have been faced with something on one end, glass or paste maybe and the other end does have residual iron like it was where it attached. Found at a site that is almost all late 1700's early 1800's.

Curious if anyone else has any ideas of what else it could have been.
