From watching videos of the exchange in action, it would perform best as a fine gold recovery unit on classified materials. Smaller being better... think beach material. Bigger stuff obstructs the vortexs from forming meaning you just have rounded riffles made of small rocks for gold to stop in. Maybe.

I almost bought one but I decided against it when somebody on a facebook DIY prospecting equipment group showed a DIY version made on a 3D printer. The maker of the dream mat showed up and started freaking out about people ripping him off, made a huge tantrum like a bratty 5 year old.
