The dredge passed the sand over copper plates covered with mercury.

Long ago there was a similar dredging operaion on the Fraser River in British Columbia.

I'd like to rent that dredge and run it up the Missouri & Mississippi Rivers to get some of that "forgotten" Gold !

I love pictures of these old steam dredges,my Grandfather worked on a steam dipper dredge digging canals that drained the swamps that once covered a large part of Arkansas. Thanks jeff!
