Just a clarification, I did not find the helmet, I mean, it was found in a cave by the owner of the rancho where we were detecting today

Wow !!! That helmet looks like gold !! (or a highly polished brass) Whatever metal it is,
the helmet is very nice looking piece of art.

A 2 centavos, bronze, 6 grams from the series 1905 to 1906; then again from 1920 to 1941 with a few year when none were minted.

The "helmet" your friend found is not Spanish... nor is it a helmet.

IMO... this is the removable top to an elephant brass sculpture produced in India.

You can even see the brass paste residue in the cracks / lines from years of polishing.
