So, I'm not sure who to turn to. I inherited a few duck decoys and after a few hours of research I am stuck. Really stuck. I have no clue what they are. I'm attaching pictures...not soliciting for anything...except for expert assistance.

The first two appear to be George Soule from Freeport, ME. From what I can tell he designed for LL Bean for a while. One of these two does have a tag. They are wood and cork and have metal weights.

The next appears to possibly be a goose but I can't find any maker marks.

Then there is a weird paper màche feeling one. It appears to be a mallard.

Finally, there is a hand carved one marked with DWS. It's wood. I'm assuming it is a one off. Any help on price and ID would be worthy of a huge hug if we were in person.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard lambchops76! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

2nd - I moved ya from What is it? over to Forum: What Is It? for more exposure.

The bottom right mallard drake is made of paper, there should be the company name stamped into the bottom, I grew up using those and they are at the shop or I could tell you the name. The bottom left is just for decorative purposes and the canvasback with the broke neck looks good to me, may be a Mason? I have no idea on prices but I am sure there are decoy collecting sites on the web that can fix you up...d2

Good advice from d2. The mallard drake appears to be old, but not old enough to be collectible. The canvasback and buffleheads might be worth some money. Try to get several opinions before deciding to sell. Good luck, hope you score some big $$.

The first couple appear to be Goldeneyes. Next a Canvasback.

Good hunting, and remember to use steel or bismuth shot. Don't forget to get a migratory bird stamp, too.
