The ring and butterfly pin were found in an area where I have been finding predominantly 1800's coins and musket balls - it is also in a modern residential area where I do find things lost yesterday.
All you jewlery experts out there, I could use some guidance in ageing these pieces. My gut tells me Victorian but it may just be wishful thinking.
I'm used to seeing 925 on modern manufactured silver but do not recognize 835 and 800. Anybody recognize the hallmark on the pin?
Oh yeah - The pin was intact but bent when I found it. I broke the fastening pin off trying to straighten it. @#&%(&))(&&R%!!!
appreciate any feedback you care to give.
