I dug my first Confederate puff rim I infantry button at the site of Buford College, Nashville TN. The college campus is in a neighborhood today, and not much is left of the college as it closed in 1915.
Part of the Confederate Army of Tennessee camped here in December 1864, during the Battle of Nashville. I dug this button using an Equinox 600.
The pictures of Buford College are from the year book & date approximately 1914.
No hard proof, but I do wonder if older two story structure with wrap around porch isn’t from the Civil War era. It is a prime candidate for the farm/plantation of Thomas F. Plater, and the H.Q. of General Loring during the Battle of Nashville.

I also dug a nice little buckle, that’d been folded over twice. I straightened it out n the field, and we think 🤔 it’s a cross shoulder type for a Rebel cartridge box. There was tons of yard trash & wheat pennies which is why these smaller items were still there. Other relic hunters had hit yard in the past. Picture of yard trash included.

Yes! I will remember that! The Glendale park trolley line rolled through that site, and coins spilled off the cars onto the tracks. I dug a walking liberty across the street years ago. I’ll post a pic of it.
I went ahead and posted everything I found across street. It was great 👍 detecting for a long time.
