I have hunted this old homesite for probably 50 hours without coming away with any coin period. I have found many cool relics and buttons, so I knew I was on an old site, but never a coin. I decided to concentrate on the southwest corner of the site where I hadn't spent much time in the past. I got a broken mediocre signal that I dismissed as another square nail. I swung from a different angle as I usually do on those signals and got a fairly sweet tone so I decided to dig. I dig about 4 inches and it was still in the hole so I went down to about 6 inches, grabbed a handful of dirt and she was in my hand. I rubbed a little dirt of and saw that little star. I immediately knew it was a TRIME! She's very worn. I can't see a date but i'll take it. If i hold it at an angle in the right light I can see the first numbers 1 8 and the fourth number is either a 3 or a 5. HH

Wow! Awesome find! Too bad there's no visible date. Maybe under a loupe you can coax something out of it. Congratulations!!!

Yea. I have one in my collection, it is an 1852. I don't know if many people realize how small these things are.

The imagination is useless here, expect for filling the empty silver space with naked ladies ,fruit trees, and running streams galore.

I like it.

I find most of my old ones burned, worn, bent, scratched, and sometimes all of the aforementioned at once.

It keeps you humble, and God knows standing out only invites catastrophe.

Weldone on your best find  Silver Coin is a good find in any condition

Congrats on the find! I bet these are easy to dismiss as junk, so another reason to dig every signal!!

Congrats on the three cent silver. Hope you find more.

Burdie

I've found some nice old stuff, but so far a 3 center has eluded me; great find!

Nice three center! If it's identifiable as a three cent piece it will work for me. I don't even care about a date. I think about one every time i'm swingin at an old site and i'm determined to coax one out of the ground someday 8)
