Dumb question

To answer a not so dumb question, a detector does operate better with fresh batteries but I run them as long as I keep finding goodies. As they go down in strength, so does the depth IMO. When they get below the halfway mark, I pull them and put in fresh. The old ones then get saved to give to the grandkinds for their toys so no waste.

I was kinda of thinking that would be the case, I have noticed that my signals have been weaker and harder to pinpoint since I first put my batteries in.

Not really an answer to your question, but something you might consider doing also.

Both my detectors use 9 Volt batteries and I'm replacing those with battery packs that use either AA, or AAA rechargables. I think I'll go with the AA's as thats what my digital video camera uses.

Have a good day!
