Over the past few years I've laughed under my breath and even wanted to call out some Tnet members on their dumpster diving prowess. Well, here's where I get to eat some crow and acknowledge that you guys/gals are for real. I caved in under pressure from my two sons (11 and 14) to go diving at Game Stop...they've watched too many Youtube videos this winter...lol. Our first stop was Game Stop and they scored a few goodies which impressed me. I can tell that both of them are having a ball and I sure didn't want to be the party pooper. So, I put on my gloves and joined them. We dove into ten dumpsters last night and this morning and I swear, our car looked like the Beverly Hillbillies moving to California! We only got down in one dumpster, the others we were able to just pull items off the top. No telling what we left behind. Here's what we scored:

Keurig B70 Platinum Coffee System....looks brand new, ran two cups of water through it, works perfect: Retail $450

Kussen MUV car seat, brand new, still has sale tag attached: Retail $270

Dream Baby Play Pen, brand new: Retail $130

Fisher Price Deluxe Rock and Play Cradle, brand new: Retail $50

Fisher Price Melody & Light Deluxe Gym, brand new: Retail $50

Britax Wheeled Back Pack, brand new: Retail $50

Crane Ultra Sonic Humidifer, brand new: Retail $40

American Aviator (Rick Harrison Pawn Stars) wrist watch, new in box: Retail $40

Arius Eickert Pro Beauty leather travel bag, used but clean: Retail ?

3 Phillips PL-T 42 watt 3200 output lights, new in box: Retail $5 each

2 LG AG-F310 Home Theater 3-D glasses, new in box: Retail $5 each

15 various gaming posters, never hung or displayed: Retail $3+ each?

180 My Coke Rewards points and some spare change.

3 Nora recessed lighting fixtures: Retail? Probably scrap

A cool heavy duty aluminum roll up advertising display: Retail? Scrap?

3 boxes of hanging file folders and a new plastic container: Retail $15

Some of the things that we didn't have room for or were too heavy: Display cases, some with mirrors and lights (used), nice spring loaded product holders (used), couple of decent swivel office chairs (used), a lot of aluminum piping with stainless steel fittings for a sprinkler system (used), several new plastic storage containers with lids, various sizes.

Dumpster owners: Game Stop (2), Bed Bath and Beyond, Staples, Buy Buy Baby and a local private Hair Saloon.

Looks like you did a cannonball dive into that one That's pretty sweet you could do well selling those on ebay!!!!! Ive seen on some of the posts on the DD site people have found some amazing things Thanks for sharing,,,,,,,

Good recoveries.. Your going to turn into a hoarder now..

Great finds. I was thinking of hitting a few dumpsters since the ground is frozen and snowed in. Most around here are closed containers now but I know a few open ones.

Most of the major retail stores have closed containers here as well....bummer.

Nice! Congrats on the great saves! There is a chapter in my upcoming book all about Retail dumpster diving. It's just the start though, alot of really nice brand new or lightly used items in there, most with still pretty high retail prices. But if you want to step up your game you have to migrate to to Residential dumpster diving - that's where the real money is. I'm talking antiques, silver, gold, treasures beyond your wildest dreams. :D

Treasure is where you find it. ( Even if its in a dumpster! )

You are now a believer......:occasion14: Now imagine what is in those retail locked dumpsters. You should see what shows up at the dump from them dumpsters. There was a time a few years ago that I never bought paper towels because they were being dumped in boxes by the truckload. Then someone from their corporate figured it out. Nice saves..
