e trac issue

has anyone had this issue... sometimes when using my e trac itll go silent( not picking up any targets.. ) even waving something under the coil turn it off and itll most of the time get bakk to business..... not sure what the heck... also itll cut off by itself too... battery life is full or atleast says its good for a long hunt... aggrivating...............

It sounds like its discriminating, and "nulling" or canceling out the threshold tone. Are you in coin mode when this happens? In trashy areas the Etrac's threshold tone is quiet or there is a really deep target not registering on the screen. Try using the "quickmask" option when this happens.

Try taking the skid plate off too and give it a clean.

You mean the detector will turn off without you doing anything? If that's the case it's a power or connection issue so change to alks if you're using the charger pack and see how that goes. For other problems did you try doing a factory restart?
