Good Evening All...
I imagine this would be a biased forum to ask this question, but I was wondering about the above detector. I was talking to a Gent at Md.com and was inquiring a bit about the Fisher F75 and he gave me the low down but then suggested he send me some info about another unit, the 705. I've been coin shooting on and off for about 17 years or so and after starting out with A Garrett Grand Master Hunter. Very disappointed, slow response etc. Anyhow, went with Fishers CZ6a and have been swinging it and the wife's CZ-5 for 17 yrs now.
But, things change, technology changes and last but not least....prices change!!! So, anyone here using the 705? How are they for discriminating out some of the trash, pin pointing and target ID'ing. 7 times out of 10, I can pin point something with the Fishers put my probe in the center of the coil and touch the targets. Also how about the auto ground balance...good...no good? My Fishers work fine, but am interested in trying something new. And unfortunately, there aren't any dealers around this area or clubs to get info from. Looking forward to your replies.

If x-terra 705 is anything like my x-terra 70,then it is very fine machine indeed and also x-terra 70 auto ground balance works just fine. If you happen to Buy the x-terra 70/705,you will soon see just how awesome it is.

If your primary use is coin shooting, the Whites M6 is quite a machine. My girlfriend has one and she coin / jewlery hunts in parks and on the beach and the M6 performs real well.

If you get the 70/705 you will be very happy at just how versatile this machine is. Different coils for different situations and so user friendly. The tones the X-Terrra gives you when you hit a quarter is sweeeeet. Lots of folks start out saying that they will primarily be coin shooting and then out of the blue the opportunity to do some nugget shooting pops up...Then what do you do? Get the X-terra and you will be ready!!!

Gramps,
Sent you a PM but I would go for the 70/705. I just traded in my M6 to get the X70 and am very happy.
It was a little more to learn but nice having the option to tweak or set my machine based on my hunting.
The 6"DD HF coil is unbelievable for target seperation in trashy areas. I pulled a mercury dime at 5" this past weekend with a nail directly above it around 3". Now that is seperation!!!
