In my best Austin Powers LOL.
My brother KirkTN and his son Will and myself went out to a field we had hunted briefly once before where we had found some old flat buttons. Today we all found more flat buttons and I found my first CW Eagle button. I posted some 5 general service eagle buttons recently that I had found but this was my first CW Eagle.
I found a nice suspender buckle and a decorative rosette? of some sort along with several other wutzit's. KirkTN found a CW sling buckle today also ( his 2nd. ) lucky dog. Will dug a great flat button as well. This was one of those days that restokes your fire for sure. I am picturing back marks of the buttons I found today anyone who can help I.D. or date these buttons would be appreciated. Notice the one flat button has an eagle stamped in the backmark...hmmm

Wow the Eagles were flying yesterday....excellent find, if you're as excited as civilman1 was when he found his yesterday...you're probably still walking on air. Congratulations!! HH

Hooray for John!!! Congrats on your Eagle button, and all of the other great finds too. VERY productive hunt for sure.
Any idea what that football shaped piece with the two holes is? I found one of those a long time ago and never did get it ID'd.

Where do I get one of those measuring devices like you have?
Thanks for the post.

Congratulations!!!!
I'll tell you what, though, ththe tip of the bone saw is

dig any part of them!

The only guess I have on the football shaped thing was possibly an adornment of some sort off a horse bridle.
I bought the digital caliper from a jeweler friend of mine I don't remember how much but I think it was under $20.00
