EAGLE BUTTON..MODERN?

FOUND THIS AT AN OLD SCHOOL...LOOKS LIKE THE FACE OF A BUTTON..BACK IS OPEN..IS IT MODERN?THANKS

the back definitely looks older than the front--- but from what I can see of the front, the sharpness and style to me look to be c. 1930s to 1950s vintage. But I could be wrong; might think different if I saw a closer pic of the front.

It doesn't look like a button to me, unless I am seeing the second pic wrong. I was thinking it came off something like a cigarette lighter. Probably from a shop right outside the post.
