Got out early today. Had to hand all of my field hunting off to the farmer for now. Decided to try out the Equinox 800 with the 6" coil in the woods at an area that I have been hunting for years. Lots of talk on the Forum about the 6" coil so let me chime in on what I know. It has been great in trashy areas and beats anything that I have ever used for that situation. Depth has been good in the fields but I was wondering how well it would do in the woods.

Well, not bad. This is a site that I have been working for years and it has produce many relics. I normally, still will find something every time I go back. It is loaded with trenches and it will be a very sad day when they are destroyed by development. But, today the 6 inch showed it is the real deal. All of these relics came from an heavily wooded area without trash but the small coil allowed me to reach areas that have been difficult to reach. These relics were also deeper than I thought the 6 inch coil would reach. So do not be shy about that tiny little coil that feels so strange on the end of your Equinox. What feels worst is when you put the 11" coil back on. Thanks!
