Couldn't sleep. Don't ya hate that? FORTUNATELY, I wan't relegated to just sitting and watching TV again to wait for the sandman to find me, It occurred to me....I live close to the beach! No driving. Just grabbed my gear (Sovereign GT, scoop, belt and gloves) and headed on up! (after leaving a note for the family so they didn't think I up and split on them!) Perfect timing too as it turned out. 0345 was when I hit the sand and low tide was at 0429. Perfect. I know the tide prediction had it at -0.3 feet below normal low tide...it was WAY lower than that. Haven't seen it this low in some time now. Flat, not allot of cuts but real calm seas (wish my excal was up and running so I could get out in the deeper water) and some low spots in the damp. Stated hitting all the low spots (some in the water a bit, not too far the GT (George Thoroughgood) isn't waterproof) and back and forth in the dry and damp sand. Hit a bunch of clad at one spot from yesterday's beach depositors. No silver but pulled in $2.43 in clad. Believe that is the best for me in one hunt so far. Most of it came from the "blanket line" and some from up against a seawall people must have been sitting against.
Took some cool pictures of the sunrise and texted them to Max letting him know what he was missing (guess it was around 0545 or so) and received a reply that he was heading up in 15 minutes just a short while later! Hope he has some good luck! Here are the pictures of the finds and a great sunrise! Thanks for looking!
