Got out too Lancaster,Virginia (Northern Neck of Virginia) this morning on a place I researched the other night of an old house site (went to the library pulled old maps, etc) hunted from 5:30am to about 8am and scored 3 Civilian buttons and about 45 shotgun shells, old cans, modern jug tops, farm junk, etc. Good sign the place is never been hit with a MDer and I love spots like this. First hour and half was nothing but junk and then found the first button and that kept me going for two more. Hopefully when I get back I can find some Liberty coins or something even better!!

Nice finds HutSiteDigger. Thanks for sharing...

Thanks vapnavy!!! Hunting in the Northern Neck of Virginia is relaxing but mostly all civilian artifacts and not much military artifacts like civil war relics.. . Lot of places have not been hit with a MDer in the Northern Neck unlike down further south in Virginia where everyone and their grandmothers hunt for civil war relics and it is harder and harder. Northern Neck is got some of the oldest rich history in North America. Just about 10 miles down the road from where I was hunting was where George Washingtons mothers house Mary Ball was born and raised. Lot of old plantation sites out in the Northern Neck and plenty of good rich history!
