I have not been able to get out for about six weeks :tongue3: so yesterday's hunt really made up for a whole load of down time.
Eventually got to go to a permission I researched over a long time and found traces of Roman occupation from cropmarks.
Got out in the field early with high hopes and after about two minutes hit my first signal which was a nice KG almost sitting on the surface. Good start and the day just got better and better plenty of signals to dig over the six hours I spent in the field.
In total my finds for the day were.

La Tene Childs brooch
7 Roman coins (6 scrappies 1 nice Constantine)
3 nice buckles
Various buttons
Musket balls and early bullet
Lead token
Elizabeth I sixpence 1601
Rose orb Jetton
Greenies (various Georgians, 1839 10 centimes, and blanks)
Edwardian costume jewellery brooch

Very happy with the first foray in this field :icon_thumleft:

Also plenty of lead, shotties and the usual junk had to be dug.
Located 2 hotspots that will be gridded on my next trip out later in the week.

It has been said before by many and I'll echo the sentiments: It blows my mind what you all find for "old coins" on that side of the pond. And the amount of them as well. Great hunt!

That's a beautiful hunt. Congrats!

Nice finds! Thanks for sharing...

Yeap, looks like a good site. That Celtic/Romano-Celtic Brooch is a type I need.

Got a hunts button with a rabbit/hare on it, I like those as well.

A Roman silver is not far away....

Thanks for the replies Just to let you know I don't take for granted just how lucky I am to be able to dig these kind of coins and relics. I,m privileged to live in such an historical area and never have to travel more than 5 miles to be on great sites.

Hope you get a good example of one of these brooches for your collection one day.
The possibility of a Roman silver is really on the cards and would not be surprised if a Celtic/Iron Age coin turned up also.
