About a week ago I stopped by a trift store and picked up these earings. They had little baggies with jewely pieces all over the bottom shelf. They open it up for you and you can pan through them all. I found these and noticed they had long treaded post and I've only seen that on gold earrings, but no marks on them I can see and no marks on the post back mounts either. I left my loop in the truck and being they were less then six bucks I purchased them. I got to the truck and looked them over and see only a mark of 4K on only one earring next to the post mount, so I start thinking this could be good. Today I took these to a jeweler. He first grabbed his diamond tester and stuck it to one of the stones and it beeped intantly and said well it's a real diamond. He did it to the other stone and got the same reading. He said he'll go in the back and test the metal. He came back and said the post are indeed 14K white gold, but the main piece is in fact 18K white gold. He then said you made a good score and the diamonds are nice ones with hardly a flaw. Indeed I did score and I was ready to here they were rhodium plate chinese diamond earring fakes. So keep your eyes open on any earrings with long threaded type post. They could be a score. Total weight of the pair is 5.2 grams.
