East Texas

Was wondering if any of you over there have ever gone on those old train rides. I was watching something on P.B.S. about old locomotives. Apparently there are some in East Texas that still run. Looked like a neat deal, just curious if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

That sounds like a ride back through history. I know for a fact that there are some very interesting things around Rusk over to Palestine and west to the Trinity River, not to mention old legends and a lot of bent trees. I even found a tree shaped like an S. I wonder if this was the original train tracks that ran from Rusk to Palestine.

the tracks were finished in 1909 and have been in operation since then,there is a full account of it if you go to ( texas state railroad ) whitt459
