I went to some new old home sites today. 9-10 old houses once stood in this patch of woods about 10 acres. Theres not any sign of the houses left other than some old roofing tin and a few piles of misplaced rocks. The detectin was pretty difficult due to some nucklehead slipping in and logged all the cedar of the property without permission and left the piles of brush laying everywhere. This area is city owned land and adjoins the old city dump that was closed in the 1950's. Tons of old bottles, old cars, refrigerators about anything you can imagine and I got permission to go have fun straight from the Mayor. Would this be considered Dumpster Diving ? LOL
I did manage to find this 925 Sterling Silver spoon Patent 1895 and two other spoons that weren't silver. 1- 1937 Buffalo Nickel, a thin bent up 14 k plated ring and an Elizabeth Arden New York lipstick tube, Patent 1924.
