Eggstone?

This afternoon I went to a field in Sumter County, Georgia, that I have looked several times this spring but it has finally been planted. We had over 2 inches of rain Thursday and Friday. This is what I found. Do you think this is an eggstone? I found one several years ago but it is flat on one end. This is a perfect egg.

One theory is that they were encased in leather pouches with a leather rope connecting them. Indians then threw them at animals. All of the ones that I have seen at artifact shows in south Georgia and Alabama had a flat end at one end. This one does not have a flat end.

Again some nice finds.I also have found the flat end ones but did not know that is what they were for and did not keep them. Like a Bolo maybe.

She has some nice artifacts!! I have one landowner that lets me look on 2,200 acres in Early County. The problem is that it is probably 70 miles from home and when I get there I find footprints. I know a lot of people in Early County. Did she go to Early County High or to SGA?
