If we knew the dimensions were or had a pic of it next to a coin for size reference, then we may better determine what this was originally from. :icon_scratch:
Is it a bracelet, a chatelaine, a ladies belt or from something else?

It almost looks too heavy to be a bracelet.

Oh shoot, forgot to tell him to throw down a reference. If the face is facing up, and you measure across from loop attachment to loop attachment, its exactly 1 inch.

Like Dave said, without a scale can't tell if it's a braclet or belt. Egyptian stuff was really popular in the 20'/30's. Made a comeback in the 60's/70's with places like the World Bazzar and head shops.

Its an inch around loop to loop. Thanks for all replies Id probably lean towards belt?

The writing on the item looks like the imitation Arabic that one finds on "belly dance coins".

I suspect that the item is some kind of bracelet or locket piece meant to be closed.
